Yosemite National Park: Mirror Lake

In the northeast corner of Yosemite Valley lays a natural phenomenon known as Mirror Lake. A grassy, sandy meadow for much of the year becomes a still pool filled with melting snow runoff in the spring and early summer months. Mirror Lake gets its name from the near perfect reflections that can be seen in its still waters.

A 5 mile loop around Mirror Lake offers views of Mt. Watkins:

Half Dome:

Wildlife sightings:

Rugged trails:

Rushing creeks:

And remarkably calm waters:

In the late summer months Mirror Lake becomes Mirror Meadows as most of the water disappears. Worth the trip in any month, visit Mirror Lake off of shuttle stop #17 in Yosemite Valley.
