Thanks National Park Foundation!

If you follow me on social media (@valeriedperry on everything) you probably saw that I was hanging out at Playlist Live in Orlando, Florida a couple weeks ago. While a trip to Florida typically means time with my sister and some other friends, this trip had the bonus of also including an award from the National Park Foundation.

I was chosen as 1 of 5 winners of the “Find Your Park: Press Play Contest” for a video I shot in Knife River Indian Villages in North Dakota.

KnifeRiverIndianVillagesI’ve spent much of the last two years visiting National Park Service Sites across the country on my quest to visit 100 National Park sites before the National Park Service turns 100 on August 25, 2016 (Currently at 98!). It was an honor to be recognized for my work and my goal continues to be that the stories I share will inspire other people to get out and explore the world around them. Maybe you can go explore a National Park, a regional park, or maybe just take a different route home from work tomorrow. The world is an exciting and beautiful place. Go see it!

While I’m thrilled to have won, I’m such a geek in this video. Ha! Totally nerding out over that park. This really is how excited I get on my trips:

I’ve made WAY better vlogs than this one, FYI. Check out my Center of the Nation and Minute Man Missile National Historic Site videos.

Also a big thanks to Coleman for all of this awesome camping gear as part of my prize package.
